A 0-10V driver, also known as a 0-10V dimmable LED driver, is a power supply that uses a low-voltage DC signal to control the brightness of an LED light fixture. This type of driver is commonly used in commercial and theatrical lighting systems. The '0-10V' refers to the voltage range of the control signal, where:
10V = 100% brightness (full light output)
0V = 0% brightness,ours is normally 5% to provent the driver always work on when slider at the bottom. (light is off or at its minimum level, depending on the driver's programming)
A compatible 0-10V dimmer is an electronic controller specifically designed to produce this 0-10V DC control signal. When you adjust the dimmer's slider or knob, it sends a corresponding voltage to the driver, which then adjusts the light's output accordingly.
You cannot use a standard triac dimmer (the type of dimmer commonly used for incandescent bulbs) with a 0-10V driver. Triac dimmers work by rapidly cutting off the AC power waveform, a process called phase-cutting. This type of signal is incompatible with a 0-10V driver and can cause the driver to fail, flicker, or behave erratically.
0-10V dimmers generally provide excellent performance, especially for commercial and large-scale lighting applications. They offer smooth, precise, and flicker-free dimming, but they do have some considerations regarding installation.
